CEYLON — Tonight is the date to turn the clocks back one hour to return to Standard Time instead of Daylight Saving Time. Unless you really want to get up or stay up until 2 a.m. to change the clocks. I don’t.

Today is the first of November. That means it is the first Saturday of the month which is when Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon has services at 5:30 p.m. They also have services on the third Saturday evening. They also invite area residents to their Bible Study which is held on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

The Circle of Faith Parishes which includes St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will change their services for the Sundays in November to 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. services at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The WELCA ladies group at St. Peter Church will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the church in Ceylon. This is the month they will collect their Thank Offering. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have 9:30 a.m. services until the last two weeks in November. The Congregation is helping the ladies LWML group collect monetary donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during the month of November.

Condolences to the family of Nadine Abel, former Dunnell resident, who passed away recently. She will be missed by family and friends.

The St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome will have their Annual Turkey Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2 for a free will donation. The menu includes the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cranberries and a variety of desserts. Plan to attend.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “Regretting You” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. Tickets are $5, and there is a concession stand available.

The CREST Lunch and Learn program will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Sinn Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. The program about Alaska will be followed by a luncheon. These events are free to senior citizens from Martin County. CREST appreciates a free will donation for the lunch.

Upcoming events include Turkey Bingo events in the area. The Sherburn Fire Department Relief Association will have a Turkey Bingo at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and the Dunnell Fire Department Relief Association will have a Turkey Bingo on Nov. 14. Each have about 40 turkeys to win. Plan to attend. Each have about 40 turkeys to win. Sounds like fun.

Line Dancing will be on Nov. 15 at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the parking lot of the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There are no income or residential requirements.
