Trunk or Treat today in Ceylon

CEYLON — The Helping Hands of Ceylon non-profit will organize a Trunk and Treat event from 1 to 3 p.m. today, Oct. 25, on Main Street. Children will get treats from decorated car trunks for a safe Halloween. Hot dogs, cookies and beverages will be provided and gift cards for the top three decorated car trunks will be given.

A Trunk and Treat will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today, Oct. 25 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn.

A Trunk and Treat in Welcome will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26 on Dugan Street near the Legion Hall in Welcome. The Regional Worship Center will have a Fall Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Dunnell will have a Trunk and Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 on Main Street, sponsored by the Still.

Have a fun and safe Halloween.

The Sherburn Lions will have a Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Martin County West cafeteria. They will serve pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and a beverage. The cost will be a free-will donation (they suggest $8 or more) and the proceeds will support the Healing Hearts recovery home in Sherburn. The recovery home helps women live a great life free of drug or alcohol use with on-site peer recovery and gym, coaches for recovery and a safe place to stay. One Tuesday in October is left for Tuesdays Coffee Hours. Join friends and neighbors from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn (Congregational Church) for good coffee and great fellowship.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “Regretting You”, a new release about youth and family relationships, for this weekend and the next weekend. Showtimes are at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $5, and there is a concession stand available.

A Memory Cafe meeting will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27 at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn for caregivers and family of patients with any kind of dementia. The public is welcome.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will meet at area cemeteries to have Coffee with the Saints on Oct. 30 to remember departed loved ones. They will meet at 8 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, 10 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church Cemetery north of Welcome, noon at Lake Belt Cemetery near Ceylon and at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome for a time of remembering past members (the Saints).

The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will feature Horse Racing and Meat Raffles on Nov. 1 and a post Halloween Party (wear a costume) on Nov. 8. Join friends for fun.

Also upcoming events include

St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome’s annual turkey dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. The menu includes the traditional turkey dinner. A free-will donation is the cost.

Friends will meet in Sherburn at the Friendship Club Potluck Thanksgiving lunch at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Bring a dish to pass and meet new and old friends. Membership at St. John’s is not required.
