Welcome Auxiliary to meet Monday
WELCOME — The Trimont Farmer’s Market will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Memorial Park. Note the change of location. They will have pumpkin painting, homemade salsa tasting (bring your best salsa), coffee, goodies, social time, vendors and a fundraiser for the Martin County West Books for Kids project. There is a playground near too. Plan to attend. Watch for winter farmer’s market events news in the future.
A Cribbage Tournament will begin with registration 1:15 p.m. and playtime at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Any cribbage player is welcome to join the fun.
The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20 at the Legion Hall . All members are encouraged to attend. They will discuss the Veterans Day plans.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be on Monday, Oct. 20 at Martin Luther High School, Friday, Oct. 24 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont and Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Truman Community Center. Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Sinn Celebration of Life Center/Congregational Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, treats and great fellowship.
The Welcome City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the City Hall. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact the City Hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 728-8740.
Condolences to the family of Todd Plumhoff of Alaska, formerly from Welcome who passed away recently. He will be missed by family and many friends.

St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome will have its annual turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Mark your calendar.
