Ceylon dives back into water treatment plans
CEYLON — During the Ceylon City Council meeting on Tuesday, funding the water treatment plans was discussed.
The CD will mature on Oct. 27, and the council approved withdrawing $62,000 to help with the water treatment plant expenses. One bill will be $45,000, and one will be $17,000. The public works employee explained the water pressure fluctuation and the color concerns about the water. He explained that some pipes are not often used and the fire truck needs water and it loosens the sediment in the old pipes, which makes the water discolored. With the water treatment plant repairs, this should clear up in the future.
Later in the meeting the council approved a funds transfer of $10,000 from the investment funds to the water fund to help pay for the water treatment plant expenses.
