TPS Sandwich Fundraiser ongoing

TRUMAN — The Church of Christ in Truman has been in existence in this community for 124 years. It was established in October 1901 by 13 charter members. God bless you with many more.

Martin County fluorescent lamp and ballast recycling will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Oct. 2 in the parking lot of Tractor Supply Co. in Fairmont. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

Truman Public School’s After Prom Party Sub Sandwich Fundraiser is going on now through Friday, Oct. 3. Subs are $6 each or $55 for 10. Subs are made on 10 to 12-inch poor boy buns from Schmidt’s Bakery and are layered with ham, turkey, and white and yellow American cheese. Contact a TPS senior, junior, sophomore or Zanna Sill at (507) 384-8471 to place an order. Subs should be picked up from the school cafeteria from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguar volleyball team will have a game against Loyola Catholic School at 7 p.m., tonight, Oct. 2, at the Fitzgerald Campus gymnasium in Mankato.

The GHEC/Truman Jaguar football game against Adrian will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 in Granada.

The GHEC/T/ML Jaguar volleyball team has a game against Cedar Mountain at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6 in Truman.

AJ Onion Rings will be at Martin County Repair/Voyles Filter cleaning from 11 a.m. until gone on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Holy Hotdish Fundraiser for organ will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. Assorted hot dishes, bread, dessert and beverages will be served for a free-will donation. Take-outs will be available along with delivery within a 10-mile radius of Truman. For delivery, call Dawn at (507) 432-8248.

The Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, at the Truman Municipal Building. These meetings are open to the public.

American Red Cross blood drives will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the elementary activity room at Truman Public Schools, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Presbyterian Church in Amboy, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop and from noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the Truman Community Center.
