FAIRMONT– At approximately 6:05 p.m. on Friday evening, Fairmont Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 600 block of E. 4th Street. A 64-year-old woman was crossing E. 4th Street when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on E. 4th Street being driven by a 56-year-old woman. Lifesaving efforts were made but the 64-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of those involved have not been released at this time and the accident remains under investigation by the Fairmont Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol.
