Upcoming vendor show on Oct. 11

WELCOME — The burn site in Welcome will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 27. Please bring only wood that is 6-inches in diameter or smaller. Thank you for the cooperation.

The Homecoming football game for Martin County West vs GFW will be at 7 p.m. tonight, Sept. 26 at Trimont’s field. The senior class has a tailgate event from 4:30 p.m. to after-half-time with pork sandwich or brat, chips, cookie and a beverage for $10. Proceeds will help fund their senior class trip in the spring. MCW athletes will compete at football at St. James on Oct. 3, cross country at Cedar Creek Park in Fairmont on Oct. 2 and volleyball will have a game against Nicollet and a special Cancer Night on Oct. 2.

The Sherburn Legion will have a Pancake feed from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Sept. 28. The Minnesota Vikings vs Pittsburgh Steelers game in Dublin, Ireland, will be on. Proceeds will help pay for unexpected plumbing expenses at the club.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Shaw home (804 W. First St.) in Welcome. Dancers and watchers are welcome.

The last day of the Coffee Hours for September will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. The October Coffee Hours will be held at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn.

The CREST Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. Plan to attend this free senior citizen program. Lunch will follow the program. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.

Condolences to the family of Mathew Hetrick from Trimont (Nebraska) who passed away recently. He will be missed.

Oops, the news about the Farmer’s Market in Trimont was in error. The Farmer’s Market has closed. Watch for possible market news in the late fall and winter (date to be determined). Thank you to Kris Fuller and Karin Carlson for organizing the market and all that participated as vendors or customers.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, Oct. 8 at Truman Public Schools, Oct. 28 at the Truman Community Center, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome, Oct. 20 at Martin Luther High School and Oct. 24 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont. Call the 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) number, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 to make an appointment or get information about blood drives. Give blood if you are eligible. There is an urgent need for blood now.

A Vendor Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Sinn Celebration of Life Center in Welcome. It is sponsored by the Welcome Post 553 Legion Auxiliary. Contact Amanda Kleinschmidt for further information. A lunch of BBQ, hot dogs and sweet treats will be

available for a free will donation.

There will also be a Trunk and Treat event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 26 near the Welcome Legion Hall. Decorate your car’s trunk and pass out goodies for a Halloween in Welcome.
