Sherburn Vendor Show this weekend
SHERBURN — A CREST Lunch-N-Learn will be at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 17 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, and followed by a lunch. These programs are free to the senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.
The Trimont Farmer’s Market will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Park. Plan to attend.
The Sherburn Legion will have its Hamburger Night from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Bake Sale to help the FFA.
Condolences to the family of David “Pinky” Olson from Trimont, who passed away recently. He will be missed by family and friends.
A Vendor Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn.
The St. John’s Lutheran Church will return to its usual service schedule and have an 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Sept. 21. Its partner congregation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have a 9:30 a.m. service for the fall season. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn has 5:30 p.m. services on Saturday, Sept. 20 and will change to Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. in October. The Regional Worship Center in Sherburn has services at 10 a.m. on Sundays. Area residents are welcome to join these congregations for services.
St. John’s Youth Group is selling coffee, tea, K-cups, cocoa, chai and cookies until Oct. 3. Contact any youth group member
Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in September at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and good fellowship.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 22 and Sept. 24, near the City Hall in Sherburn. Call the appointment number at (507) 238-8500 and mention Sherburn Clinic.
The Martin County West football team will go to Lester Prairie at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19. The volleyball team will play at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 in Fairmont. The volleyball will play against GFW at 7 p.m. on Sept. 22 in Trimont. The cross country team will compete on Sept. 18 in Jackson. Good luck, Mavericks.
The Regional Worship Center will have a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Community event at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. This is for all who have lost a baby with stillbirth or miscarriage. They will honor the infant with a candle lighting memorial and have discussions to help the family with the loss. They will have speakers and a booth from Options Pregnancy Center available. Anyone from the community is welcome to join them.
The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church invites community members and others to join them for lunch at 11 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the Hometown Restaurant in St. James. Membership at St. John’s is not required. Join them and make new friends.
The MCW Volleyball teams will have a Ribbons and Benefit auction for Cancer on Oct. 2 at the Trimont school. They will have a bake sale, auction, t-shirt sales and a serving contest. Proceeds will help others with medical expenses and expenses not covered by insurance such as travel expenses to treatments. Plan to attend.
