Relay for Life next weekend
CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have communion services at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Sept. 6. They also have a Bible Study at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Area residents are welcome to join them.
The Circle of Faith Parishes, including St. Peter Church in Ceylon, will all join for a special service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Following the service, they will help Heaven’s Table Food Shelf clean and restock their shelves. This is a project called God’s Work-Our Hands. The parishes will have 9 a.m. services at Trinity in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. services at First Lutheran Church in Trimont during September. Area residents are welcome to join them.
The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will meet at 11 a.m. on Sept. 8 at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. Area residents are welcome to join them for lunch. Membership at St. John’s is not required.
The Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in September at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, goodies and great fellowship.
The Martin County Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. Do you have your team organized? Activities include relay, music from The BeeKays, a car show, butterfly release, face painting, pedal pull, silent auction, pork meal and more. What a good cause. Plan to attend. Survivors, families, and anyone wishing to help cancer cure research are welcome to join the celebration. Rachel Manwarren and Sammi Jo Helmers-Nelson are working hard to make this a very good event for the Martin County Cancer Society. Plan to attend.
The Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon will have a line dancing class on Sept. 13.
Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on September 15 at the Regional Worship Center, south of Interstate 90, in Sherburn. $25 will get a trunk full of groceries. Facebook has a partial list. If anyone has boxes from previous distributions, please bring them and give them to the volunteers at the beginning of the line. There are no income or residential guidelines.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Blood supplies are low and are urgently needed, so give blood if you are eligible. Thank you.
