TPS prepping for student return

TRUMAN — A Meyer Family benefit to support Travis Meyer and his family as he battles brain cancer will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Sept. 1 at River Ridge Church, 354 Carol Court, North Mankato. Travis is the son of Duane and Lynda Meyer of rural Truman. Enjoy a taco bar, activities for kids, silent auction and music by Zak Rivers.

Due to Monday, Sept. 1, being Labor Day, the Truman City Council will now meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2. If you have any questions, contact City Hall at (507) 776-7951.

Due to Labor Day, please remember that recycling day is now Thursday, Sept. 4. Place your recycling containers on the curb by 7 a.m.

Truman Public Schools (TPS) welcomes everyone back for the 2025-2026 school year. Enroll Today at the school website at truman.k12.mn.us. The first day of school for grades 7 to 12 is Sept. 2. Early entrance conference K-6 will be on Sept. 2 and 3, with the first day on Sept. 4. School hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 3:10 p.m., and the office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit the website for additional information on the preschool program and school supply lists. Breakfast and lunch will be free for the 2025-2026 school year. Please fill out the lunch application forms and return them to the office.
