Area blood drives coming up

CEYLON — Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in August at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn (located at the south end of Main Street). Join friends and neighbors for great fellowship over a cup of coffee and treats. The Tuesday Coffee Hours in September will be at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be Aug. 29 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Sept. 2 and 3 at the Best Western in Fairmont, Oct. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont and Oct. 13 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Call the 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) number, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 to make an appointment or locate a blood drive in the area.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have its evening service at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Tuesday Bible Study sessions will begin on Sept. 2 and meet at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning. Area residents are welcome to join them for services and Bible Study.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will have a joint service for all the parishes on September 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome at 9 a.m. After the service they will go to the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont and clean and stock food shelves for about two hours. This will be their God’s Work Our Hands project. The Services for the Circle of Faith Parishes change in September to 9 a.m. at Trinity in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran in Trimont beginning September 14. Area residents are welcome to join them.

St. John’s Friendship Club plans to meet at 11 a.m. on Sept. 8 at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. Area residents are welcome to join them. Membership at St. John’s is not required.

Condolences to the families of Jason Hansel, Julaine (Bremer) Warriner and Janice Franck. Gone too soon. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club will have an open house at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Cedar Creek Park shelter house in Fairmont. Discussion and dancing will follow the potluck meal, provided by the club members. The club will dance for King Korn Days from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Silo’67 bar and grill in Fairmont. The club’s regular meetings will begin Sept. 14 in Welcome, and will continue on the second and fourth Sundays. Sounds like a busy club. Dancers and watchers are welcome.
