Trimont Farmers’ Market open today

SHERBURN — Today is a busy day. A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 20 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont and followed by a luncheon. This is free to all senior citizens in Martin County. CREST would appreciate a free will donation for the lunch.

The Trimont Farmers’ Market will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. today, Aug. 20 at Anderson Park.

The Sherburn Legion will hold their Hamburger Night from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Aug. 20. There will be a Bake Sale for the FFA trip.

Tuesday Coffee Hours continue at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Join friends and neighbors for a cup of coffee and treats and good fellowship each Tuesday in August. In September the Tuesday Coffee Hours will be in Welcome at St. Paul’s Community Church.

Condolences to the families of Lloyd Scheff, Ann Kuschel, Gail Melson and Julaine Warriner, who passed away. They will be missed by family and friends.

The American Red Cross blood drive will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont. They will hold a blood drive at the Best Western in Fairmont on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3. There is a critical need for blood at this time so give if you are eligible. Thank you.

Temperance Lake Ridge will host Memory Cafe for caregivers and family of dementia patients at 3 p.m. on Aug. 25. All are welcome.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 25 and Aug. 27 near the City Hall in Sherburn. Call the appointment line at (507) 238-8500 and mention Sherburn Clinic.

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have an Outdoor Worship Service at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 at Everett Park on Fox Lake. They will have a brunch and games following the service. Plan to attend. The Friendship Club from St. John’s will meet on Sept. 8 at the Ranch. Area residents are welcome to join them for lunch. Membership at St. John’s is not required to join them.

Martin County West Schools are gearing up for the new 2025-2026 school year. The first day of school for the grade 7 to 12 students is Sept. 2 and the students in grades kindergarten to 6 will join them on Sept. 4. The sports teams are ready too. The volleyball team will compete against Adrian on Friday, Aug. 22. The cross country team will have a pre-season meet on Friday, Aug. 22 in Loyola. There will be a meeting for seventh graders and new students to the MCW School at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. Have a great year, Mavericks. CER will have Babysitting and Home Alone safety programs on Aug. 21.
