Lunch and Learn on Aug. 20
CEYLON– Today the Lake Belt Bar and Grill will feature a Game Race beginning at 2 p.m. Plan to attend.
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will NOT have services tonight. The next Saturday evening services is scheduled for Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m. They will also be starting their Tuesday Morning Bible Study on Sept. 9 at 9:30 a.m. Plan to attend. Area residents are welcome to join them.
Trimont’s Sundaes at the Park will conclude on Sunday with entertainment by Ryan and Braelynn Faber and ice cream at the Memorial Park two blocks east of Highway 4 in Trimont. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy music and ice cream one last time this summer.
Condolences to the family of Janice Franck (Mrs. Leroy) a former Ceylon area resident who passed away recently. She will be missed by family and friends.
Area events include Tuesday Coffee Hours at Sherburn at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in August. There is a Coffee Lovers group that meets every Thursday morning at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Join friends and neighbors for fellowship at these Coffee Hours.
The Martin County Fair concludes this weekend plan to attend. Congratulations to the exhibitors that received awards and the State Fair winners, good luck at the State Fair.
The area square dance club, Lake Promenaders, will have a survey at the Fair in Fairmont and on Facebook. They would like some input from those who would like to do square dances and lessons as to what dates would fit for them. On Aug. 20 there will be a Lunch-N-Learn program sponsored by Crest at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont beginning at 11 a.m. and followed by a lunch. These educational and fun programs are free to Martin County Senior Citizens. Crest appreciates a free will donation for the lunch.
The Red Cross blood drive will be at the Fairmont American Legion Hall on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They plan a blood drive for Sept. 2 and 3 at the Best Western in Fairmont also. Call the 800-733-2767 (800-red-cross) number to make an appointment or find further information about area blood drives.
