Martin County Fair next week
WELCOME — The Welcome Burn Site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon for tree trimmings and brush and grass clippings. Wood needs to be six inches or smaller in diameter. This is for Welcome residents only..

This coming week, the Martin County Fair will be held in Fairmont. Plan to attend. Good luck to the 4-H members, FFA members and the open-class exhibitors. Have fun at the Fair.
The Welcome Legion will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, at the Legion Hall. All members are encouraged to attend. They will have a membership drive with a Chicken and Corn Feed and a cash drawing for paid-up members on Aug. 22.
The Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in August at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Join neighbors and friends for a cup of coffee, treats and fellowship. St. John’s youth are selling sweet corn at the Sherburn Nursery.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont. The Best Western in Fairmont will host the blood drives from Sept. 2 to Sept. 3. Call the 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) number, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 to make an appointment or to get further information about blood drives in the area. Blood is urgently needed, so give if you are eligible.

The Martin County Relay for Life will be on Sept. 13 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. It is time to get your team organized for the relay. Plan to attend.
The Lunch and Learn will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 20 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont.
