Vehicle theft/attempted ATM theft in Truman

TRUMAN — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a vehicle theft and attempted ATM theft that occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 1, in Truman. At approximately 4:45 a.m., a Chevrolet 1500 pickup was stolen from the 500 block of East 2nd Street North. A short time later, the stolen pickup was used in an attempt to forcibly remove the drive-through ATM at Profinium Financial. The suspects were unsuccessful in accessing the contents of the ATM and subsequently fled the scene. Video surveillance has confirmed the involvement of at least three individuals, all of whom were wearing lace coverings. In addition to the stolen pickup, investigators believe two other vehicles may be connected to the crime including a light-colored minivan and a four-door white Chevrolet pickup. The suspects were last seen traveling eastbound on 240th Street out of Truman. This incident remains an active investigation.
