SHERBURN — Only one more day of July! Where has the summer gone? Tomorrow, 7-31, the Sherburn Library will have its Color Me a Storytime at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 31. The Fairmont Library will have a Summer Shindig event for all from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 6. Drop in that day and enjoy live music with Andrea Lynn, play ping pong, balloon animals, enjoy tasty treats from O’Scoops and Pizza Ranch and the Tiny School of Art. The event is free and open to the public.

The Youth Group from St. John’s Lutheran Church will be selling Sweet Corn at the Sherburn Nursery for $6 a dozen now until they are done harvesting.

The Sherburn Theatre is planning to show the movie “Naked Gun”. Showtimes this weekend and next weekend are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The August Tuesday Coffee Hours will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday morning in August at St. John’s Lutheran Church (317 South Main Street) in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and great fellowship.

The Sundaes at the Park will be at 6 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the Triumph Memorial Park in Trimont. Glenn Henriksen will be featured as the entertainment. Check out the fun Sunday in Trimont.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church will meet for brunch/breakfast at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4 at the Green Mill Restaurant in Fairmont. They are planning a patio breakfast. Area residents are welcome to join them; membership at St. John’s is not required.

A Caregivers Support Group gathering will be at 10 a.m. on Aug 4 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Caregivers and the families of patients with dementia are welcome.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 4 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on Aug. 6 and at LiveFit Gym in Fairmont on Aug. 8 and at the American Legion in Fairmont on Aug. 22. A CREST-sponsored Lunch-N-Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn, followed by a luncheon. The programs are free to all senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.

The Sherburn Legion will have its Hamburger Night from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6, with a bake sale to help the FFA. Plan to attend. The Sherburn Legion is planning a Steak Fry Night on Aug. 9, so mark your calendars for some good eats at the Sherburn Legion.

The Martin County West School is gearing up for school with the office beginning regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. The phone number is (507) 764-2330. The first day of school is Sept. 2 for grades 7 to 12, and Sept. 4 for grades kindergarten to 6. Kinder Kamp, to help the children entering kindergarten at MCW, will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. from Aug. 18 to Aug. 20. This is a free program for children entering kindergarten at MCW.
