CEYLON — Upcoming events include the Ceylon Summer Quasquicentennial (125th anniversary) Festival from Aug. 7 to Aug. 10. Event plans have been made to be held at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill and the City (Mondale) Park. Garage sellers may contact Amy Laue at (507) 317-5352. A vendor show, petting zoo, classic car show, outdoor movie, line dancing and karaoke are planned. The Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association will have its delicious Pancake Brunch on Sunday, Aug. 10. Plan to attend.

Sundaes at the Park will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, featuring the Fett Brothers. The high heat and humidity are a concern, so the event has been moved indoors. Glenn Henriksen will provide the entertainment on Aug. 3.

The last Tuesday Coffee Hours for July will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. The August Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in August at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for great coffee, treats and fellowship.

Ceylon Coffee hours are from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of Lake Belt Bar and Grill. All area residents are welcome to join them.

The Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3. This is the last summer opening slated for the first Sunday of the month. Check out the wonderful items of interest from the city, school and area at the museum.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will change in August to services at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome. The WELCA women’s group from St. Peter Church will meet on Aug. 6. Plan to attend.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 4 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on Aug. 6 and at LiveFit Gym in Fairmont on Aug. 8.
