WELCOME — This will be a busy weekend in Welcome.

A Fish Fry will be at 5 p.m. tonight, July 25, at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon, serving until fish are gone.

The Welcome High School (WHS) All-Class Reunion will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Fox Lake Event Center in Sherburn. Several former WHS students are participating as color guard, national anthem singers and emcees. A tribute to veterans, former staff and faculty, memories of the school days and singing the school song are planned. The program will be around 5 p.m., and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. Sounds like a fun afternoon. Plan to attend.

The burn site in Welcome will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 26. Please bring wood that is six inches in diameter or smaller.

The Welcome Fire Department plans a Pancake Feed from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, at the Welcome Legion Hall. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, fried potatoes, juice, coffee and milk for a free-will donation. If writing a check, write it to Welcome Fire Department Relief Association. This could be another gathering of the former WHS friends. Plan to attend.

Sundaes at the Park will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, featuring the Fett Brothers. The high heat and humidity are a concern, so the event has been moved indoors.

The Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. The August Coffee Hours are at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn each Tuesday morning that month.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn on Aug. 4 from 1 to 6 p.m., Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on Aug. 6 and at LiveFit Gym in Fairmont on Aug. 8 and at the American Legion in Fairmont on Aug. 22. Plan to give the blood needed so urgently. Each unit may save up to three people. Thank you.

Just a reminder that the Circle of Faith Parishes will change in August to services at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome. St. Paul’s Community Church on Dugan Street will have services at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. Area residents are welcome to join these services.
