Ceylon summer consignment auction July 19
CEYLON — The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have a professional teach line dancing at 7:30 p.m. tonight, July 12.
The congregation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will not have a service but will join their partner church at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn for a joint service and a voters’ meeting following the service to discuss calling a pastor when Pastor Wilson retires in November. Note the change of time.
The Trimont FunFest is planned for this weekend. Plan to attend the many events. Welcome Summer Festival will be next weekend, from July 18 to 19. Truman will have their 50th Truman Days from July 25 to 27.
The Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in July at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. The Coffee Lovers group meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday morning at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join both of these coffee hours for fellowship and good coffee.
A CREST-sponsored Lunch-N-Learn program about making sleeping mats from grocery bags will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a lunch. These programs are free to any senior citizen in Martin County but CREST would appreciate a free will donation for the lunch. Plan to attend.
The BBQ and Pie Social from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at the Immanuel Church in Dunnell with hotdogs and beans and potato salad, ice cream and of course pies. Take out is available and the church is handicapped accessible from the north side. Sounds like a yummy way to celebrate July.
The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “Jurassic World: Rebirth” this weekend. Tickets are $5. Show times are 7 p.m. tonight and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. There is a concession stand available.
A Summer Consignment Auction in Ceylon will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19 with multiple rings. Consignment items may be brought in this week until from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 17. Agriculture items only please no household items this sale. They will be missing one of the auctioneers, Gary Helmers, who passed away recently.
There will be a Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 21 at the Regional Worship Center parking lot in Sherburn (just south of Interstate 90). There are no residential or income guidelines. $25 will fill your trunk with groceries. A partial list is on Facebook prior to the distribution date.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont on July 21 and at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn on Aug. 4, Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on Aug. 6 and at LiveFit Gym in Fairmont on Aug. 8. Plan to give the gift of life giving blood which is needed so much now. Summer is notoriously slow for blood drives and the need is great.
