SHERBURN — I hope you had a happy and safe Fourth of July holiday.

The Farmers’ Market in Trimont will be from 2:30 to 5:30 today, July 9.

The Martin County Foxes will play the Windom Pirates at 7:30 p.m. today, July 9, at Truman Field.

Condolences to the family of Pearl (Diekmann) Grev, who passed away recently. She will be missed.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie, “Jurassic World: Rebirth” this weekend. Showtimes are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. The tickets are $5, and there is a concession stand available.

The Sherburn Library has many activities planned in the summer for area children. 4-H activities will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow, July 10. Artistic activities will be at 3 p.m. on July 15. The special reptiles presentation will be at 3:30 p.m. on July 17 at the Sherburn Theatre.

St. John’s Lutheran Church and its partner church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, will have a joint service at 9 a.m. on July 13 (note change of time). There will be no service at Wilbert that Sunday. After the service, there will be a special voters’ meeting considering calling a pastor since Pastor Wilson is planning on retiring.

The Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on July 15 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn (just south of Interstate 90). Join friends and neighbors for fellowship with a cup of coffee and treats each Tuesday morning in July.

The special memorial for Dan Hanson will be at 5 p.m. on July 15 at Pocket Park (downtown Sherburn) with a hot dog meal. This was postponed from an earlier date because of bad weather. Plan to attend.

The American Red Cross blood drives continue in July at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on July 10 and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont on July 21. In August, the blood drive will be at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn on Aug. 4, Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont on Aug. 6 and at Live Fit Gym in Fairmont on Aug. 8. The Sherburn Legion will have their Steak Night from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 at the Legion Hall in Sherburn. The Sherburn Legion will have their Hamburger Night and FFA Fundraiser Bake Sale from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 16. Plan to attend both nights.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 14 and July 16 near the City Hall in Sherburn. Call the appointment number at (507) 238-8500 and mention the Sherburn Clinic.

The CREST Lunch and Learn will be at 11 a.m. on July 16 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by lunch. These educational and fun activities are free to all senior citizens in Martin County. CREST does appreciate a free will donation for the lunch.

The Welcome Summer Festival will be next weekend, July 17-19, with city-wide garage sales and many activities, and a parade at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

There are many Community Education and Recreation activities from Martin County West School District this summer. Check out the activities on the school website at martin.k12.mn.us or in the newsletter. The MCW school board meeting will be at 6 p.m. on July 21 at the Sherburn Elementary School.
