Truman 5K signups still open
TRUMAN — The American Red Cross blood drive will be from 12 to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at the Truman Community Building. To make an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor app, visit www.redcrossblood.org, text BLOODAPP to 90999 or call Yvonne at (507) 776-855. Fill out the Rapid Pass on the day of your appointment and shorten the registration time.
Recycling day is Wednesday. Please place clean recycling containers on the curb by 7 a.m.
If you are a business or civic group planning on being in the Truman Days parade on July 26, please get your registration form in. Fire departments in class reunions are encouraged to participate.
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, let’s thank those who have served and sacrificed for our nation. Let’s respect one another. We won’t always agree, but we can always approach our differences with an open mind and the willingness to listen to our fellow Americans. Let’s all have a happy, safe and memorable Fourth of July.

The agribusiness committee of the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce and Martin County Pork Producers. Announce the 27th annual blue ribbon pork cook-off, to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the Martin County Arena at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Blue ribbon pork cook-off tickets are available for $12 at the Fairmont Chamber of Commerce.

There are no events at the Truman Public Library from June 30 to July 4. During July, they are giving out take-home STEM kits.
