Storytime activity at the Sherburn Library
SHERBURN — Thank you to all those who participated and/or attended the Sherburn Holiday Festival activities, even though it was windy and hot.
The Sherburn Library will have a Color Me Storytime activity at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, June 26. All area children are welcome to attend the summer activities at the Library.
A Bike Rodeo for all children in the area sponsored by the Welcome/Sherburn Police Department will be on Saturday, June 28. The Sherburn location begins at 9 a.m. at the High School. The Welcome location begins at noon at the Welcome Fire Hall. Children should wear a helmet and closed-toed shoes with their bikes. Parents will sign a waiver and are asked to stay at the Bike Rodeo. The children will learn signals, bike safety, helmet use, navigate cones and receive a gift bag. Thank you for having a Bike Rodeo.
The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “How to Train Your Dragon” this weekend. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. The tickets are $5. There is a concession stand available.
The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 2, near the City Hall. Call the appointment line at (507) 238-8500 and mention Sherburn Clinic to make an appointment.
The American Red Cross blood drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at St. Paul’s Community Church on Dugan Street in Welcome. The July Blood drives will be on July 10 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and July 21 at St. John Vianney Church in Fairmont. The Sherburn Civic and Commerce Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at the Senior Center near the City Hall. All members and any interested parties are welcome to join them.
The Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn and on each Tuesday in July. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and great fellowship.
The Farmer’s Market in Trimont will be open from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at Anderson Park, featuring coffee and children’s activities beside the fresh produce.
A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, with a lunch to follow. The location for Sherburn programs is now at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center at 212 North Prairie (Congregational Church). This is a free educational and fun program for senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free will donation for the lunch.
The Sherburn Legion’s Hamburger Night and Bake Sale will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2. The bake sale proceeds help the local FFA raise funds for their international trip.
The Martin County Foxes will play at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, in Jackson. Plan to attend. The CER Coach T football is underway this week.
St. Luke’s Catholic Church members change their schedule for services at 5 p.m. on Saturdays. This schedule will be in effect from July until September.
The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn invites area residents to join them on the first Monday of each month for lunch and fellowship. The next date for the Friendship Club lunch is 11 a.m. on July 7 at the Sherburn City Park. This will be a potluck. Bring a dish to pass, utensils and a friend. Membership at St. John’s is not required.
St. John’s Lutheran Church is the site for Camp Omega day camp from July 7 to 11. The camp is for children entering first grade to sixth grade. They will have activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and a program at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The session will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Volunteer helpers are welcome too.
