Ruby’s Pantry distribution June 16

SHERBURN — A CREST Lunch and Learn Program will be at 11 a.m. today, June 4, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center at 212 North Prairie Street in Sherburn. It will have a program about games and fellowship, with lunch will follow. The lunch will include lasagna, garlic bread, lettuce salad and watermelon. These programs are free to all senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch. Note the new location.

Hamburger Night will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, June 4, at the Sherburn Legion Hall. The menu includes a burger, a salad and baked beans for only $10. Sounds yummy.

Condolences to the families of James “Butch” Mulso and Kevin Hoiland who passed away recently. They will be missed.

The Farmer’s Market in Trimont will begin for the summer today, June 4. They are at Anderson Park every Wednesday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., sponsored by Carlsonville Garden and Woodcraft. Mark your calendar and plan to attend. Trimont’s Sundaes at the Park begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at Triumph Park. The first entertainment group is the Trimont Centennial Band. Enjoy the music and ice cream.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “The Last Rodeo” this weekend. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5. There is a concession stand available.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on June 9 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, June 20 at the American Legion in downtown Fairmont and on June 30 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Blood is urgently needed now, so give if you are able to give. Thank you.

The Friendship Club based at St. John’s Lutheran Church will have a breakfast/lunch at 11 a.m. on June 9 on the patio at the Tami’s on the Ave. restaurant in Fairmont. Area residents are welcome to join them for good fellowship and good food.

The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on June 16 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There are no residential or income guidelines; $25 will get a trunkful of assorted groceries. There is a partial list of items on Facebook prior to the date.

Coffee on Tuesdays for the month of June will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and great fellowship.

There are many opportunities for summer sports classes and other sessions available through the CER of the Martin County West school district, listed in the newsletter and on Facebook. The City-Wide Garage/Rummage Sales will be on June 12 to 14. To get your rummage sale on the map, pay $10 and drop off the listing at Bank Midwest by June 10.

The Pocket Park will have a dedication honoring Dan Hanson at 5:30 on June 11 with a car cruise and a free hot dog meal.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is taking registration for its Vacation Bible School from June 9 to 11 for three-year-olds to kindergarten. Students and a Camp Omega Day Camp for students going into first grade through entering sixth grade from July 7 to 11.
