Sober Home for Veterans with PTSD grand opening
WINNEBAGO – Bravo Zulu House is proud to announce its Grand Opening at 9 a.m. on May 28, at 2949 230th Street in Winnebago. This is marking a historic milestone as the first dedicated sober living facility in the United States specifically designed to support Veterans struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
This landmark event will celebrate the culmination of dedication and community support, bringing an important resource to those who have served our nation. Bravo Zulu House recognizes the unique challenges faced by Veterans with PTSD, including the increased risk of substance abuse.
Bravo Zulu House offers Veterans a safe, supportive, and substance-free environment where they can focus on healing, build meaningful connections, and access personalized care designed around their unique needs.
“This isn’t just a grand opening–it’s a long-overdue solution to a critical gap in care,” said Lt. Col. Sam Andrews. “Bravo Zulu House is the first post-treatment sober living home created exclusively for Veterans, where recovery is supported not only by peers but by working with organizations like Mayo Clinic Health System, Wounded Warrior Project, and Paws for Cause.”
“Our objective is to provide a holistic path to recovery–one that addresses substance abuse and the deep wounds of PTSD,” he continued. “This is a place where Veterans can truly begin again, rediscover hope, and reclaim their sense of purpose.”
The grand opening event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Veteran advocates and civic leaders, speakers will include Representative Brad Finstad and Bravo Zulu House Board of Directors member General Joseph Votel as the keynote speaker. Enjoy food and refreshments from Hy-Vee in the morning, and after the ceremony, the Grill Master crew from Weber Grills will be serving lunch as attendees are free to tour the facilities.
