WELCOME — Memorial Day programs will be in area towns. Welcome will have a Memorial Day program at 9 a.m. on May 26 at the Legion Hall. Sherburn will have a program at the park at 10:30 a.m. on May 26. This is a good opportunity to show veterans that we appreciate their service and to remember that freedom isn’t free.

The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19. at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.

The Welcome City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on May 20 at City Hall. There is always time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact City Clerk Jodi Hemann at (507) 728-8740 prior to the meeting date. Hemann says there are still plenty of free flower seeds available at the City Hall.

A CREST-sponsored Lunch-N-Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with a lunch to follow the program. These are free educational and fun activities for senior citizens of Martin County. The CREST office would appreciate a free will donation for the lunch.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will not be held in May. The next distribution date is June 16. Plan to attend.

The Tuesday Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in May at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and treats, and great fellowship.

The American Red Cross blood drives continue on May 19 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, May 23 at the Live Fit Gym in Fairmont, June 3 and 4 at the Best Western in Fairmont, June 9 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, June 20 at the Fairmont Legion Hall and June 30 at the Welcome Community Church.
