SHERBURN — A grade 7 to 12 band concert will be at 7 p.m. tonight, May 14, at the Martin County West High School.
St. John’s LWML ladies group will meet at 2 p.m. today, May 14. All members are encouraged to attend.
The Sherburn Theatre will not have a movie this weekend.
The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution is postponed to June.
Tuesday Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in May at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship and coffee.
The American Red Cross blood drives in May will be tomorrow, May 15, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, May 19 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, and on May 23 at the LiveFit Gym in Fairmont. The Sherburn Burn Site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 17, for Sherburn residents only. Only wood six inches in diameter or smaller should be brought to the site. Thank you for your cooperation.
St. John’s Lutheran Church will be starting its summer schedule with only one service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18. That service will celebrate the Sunday School with the children singing and a pancake breakfast after the service. Thank you to all the teachers and the support of the Sunday School.

The Memorial Day program for Sherburn will be at 10:30 a.m. on May 26 at the City Park (in the high school if inclement weather). The speaker will be Paul Groskreutz Jr. The scouts will provide a picnic in the park after the program for a free-will donation. This sounds like a great way to honor Veterans and remember that freedom isn’t free. Plan to attend.
The Martin County West Students will be busy with all conference games. The softball team will play at 7 p.m. tonight, May 14. at Madelia. The baseball team will play in the Tomahawk Valley Conference Championship tomorrow, May 15, at ISG Field. The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams will have a Valley Conference meet at 4 p.m. at Sleepy Eye. The Softball Championship will be played at 5 p.m. at Caswell Park in Mankato. The boys’ and girls’ golf teams will compete with Alden Conger at 4:15 p.m. on May 16. The baseball team will compete with Windom at 4:30 p.m. on May 16 at the Welcome Fields. The boys’ and girls’ golf teams will compete with multiple schools on May 19 at the Fox Lake Course. The fifth-grade students will have a Dare Graduation on May 19. The MCW School Board will meet at 6 p.m. (public hearing at 5 p.m.) on May 19.
The second-grade students will tour Trimont on May 22, where they will attend school next year. A Teacher’s Workshop will be on May 23, there is no school that day. The seniors will attend a Baccalaureate Service at 6 p.m. on May 28 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. Groundbreaking for the new MCW school will be at 2 p.m. on May 28 at the football field in Sherburn. Graduation will be at 2 p.m. on June 1 at the high school gym in Sherburn.
