CEYLON — Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 11. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmoms, foster moms, and those who are like a mom to area children.

Please accept my apology for writing that Ceylon has a Clean Up Day today. They will not have a Clean Up Day until September. Welcome and Sherburn residents will have a Clean Up Day. I think I got my cities mixed up for the news for that day.

Tuesday Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. during May at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Coffee Lovers in Ceylon have coffee hours from 8:30 to 10 a.m. every Thursday. Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship and coffee.

The Ceylon City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at City Hall. Public comments and questions will be accepted at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact the City Clerk at (507) 632-4653.

The Sherburn Theatre will not have a movie scheduled for this weekend and next weekend.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be on May 15 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, May 19 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, and May 23 at the LiveFit Gym in Fairmont. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have its 5:30 p.m. Service on May 17. All area residents are welcome.

Line dancing will be at 7:30 p.m. on May 17 at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon with a professional instructor. Canaan James will be at the Bar and Grill at 8 p.m. on May 24. Plan to attend.
