WELCOME — Clean Up Day in Welcome is tomorrow, May 10. The truck will be parked behind the Fire Hall on Campbell Street from 8 a.m. to whenever it is full (or 10 a.m.). There are appliance tags to be purchased at City Hall. Facebook has the prices listed. Just a reminder that this is for Welcome residents only. Be prepared to show proof of residency, like an address.

The City would also like to remind residents that the Sump Pump discharge should be directed to the lawn or storm sewer until November per ordinance. There is an ordinance that lawns should be mowed before the grass is seven inches tall. Thank you for your cooperation in these matters. Clerk Jodi Hemann says there are free seed packets at the City Hall thanks to a donor. The Welcome Burn Site is also open from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow, May 10.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11. Thank you to all area mothers and those who are like a mother to area children.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance group will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, at the Shaw home at 804 West First Street in Welcome. Dancers and watchers are welcome to join them.

Condolences to the families of Michael Swanson, Cindy Mock and Lois Schmidtke from Trimont and Dennis Crissinger from the Sherburn area. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Welcome Legion will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 12, at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.

A Coffee Hour will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in May, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship with good coffee and treats.

The Circle of Faith parishes will meet at 9 a.m. on Sundays in May at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Area residents are welcome to join them for services.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be on May 15 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, May 19 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, and May 23 at the LiveFit Gym in Fairmont.
