WELCOME — The last Cribbage tournament for spring will be at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Welcome Legion Hall. In previous years, tournaments have been held in April. There are many conflicts, so the last day for Spring Cribbage is March 15. Thank you to all those who attended. If all goes as planned, see you on Oct. 11 and 18.

The Martin County Township Association Annual meeting will be at 6:30 for supper and 7 p.m. for the meeting with elections on March 27 at Welcome Legion Hall. Individual townships had elections on March 11.
The Heaven’s Table Food Shelf food distributions in Welcome will miss former City Clerk Deb Hansen, who previously coordinated the food distributions. They are happy to announce that the Welcome food distributions will continue. If someone would like to be on the list, they must contact the City Hall, and once signed up, they will be notified of the date, time, and location for the food pick up. The previous clerk’s list is unavailable. People need to make sure their name is listed again. Anyone may contact Heaven’s Table at heavenstable@gmail.com or (507) 238-5424. They also need a coordinator in Welcome.
About signs of spring, I noticed some geese flying north the other day. It has been hard to find signs of spring with the March snow storms lately but the melting snow is also a sign. Another sign is that the Tuesday Coffee Hours will begin in April. The first day of spring is March 20.
