CEYLON — A Cribbage Tournament will be at 1:15 p.m. today at the Welcome Legion Hall. All cribbage players are welcome to join the fun. Registration dues are paid back 100-percent in prizes. Look for a tournament on Saturday, March 15.

The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have Horse Races and Meat Raffle at 2 p.m. today. Upcoming events at the Ceylon Bar are Fish Fry Night from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on March 14, and Paint and Sip Girl’s Night Out on March 15.

A Pancake Brunch by the Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association will be at 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow, March 9, in the banquet room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs and beverages for a free will donation. Proceeds help the Fire Department purchase needed equipment. The Ceylon City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at City Hall. All members are encouraged to attend. Public comments and questions will be accepted at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact the City Hall.

Mid-week Lenten services are on March 12 at area Churches. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have 6:30 p.m. services and a cooperative lunch to follow. This service will have Communion since the Ash Wednesday service was cancelled due to the blizzard. Circle of Faith Parishes, which includes St. Peter Lutheran Church, will have mid-week Lenten services with a supper at 6 p.m. and services at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. All of the mid-week services will be the same, and all services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.

Coffee Hours will be at 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. The Tuesday Coffee Hours will begin at area churches in April with the first one in Trimont. The Tuesday Coffee Hours will follow the last year’s schedule.

The Ladies’ Group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert (LWML) will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. All members or women interested in the group are welcome to attend.
