Santa Day set for Dec. 14

WELCOME — Santa Day will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Hot dogs, fun crafts, a coloring contest, free photos with Santa and fire truck and police car rides are planned. For additional information, contact Amanda Kleinschmidt or Kristie Cook.

Welcome Legion members will meet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the Legion Hall. All members are encouraged to attend.

The Sherburn C&C club will have their Deck the Halls Christmas tree decorating contest and vendor fair on Saturday and Sunday at the High School in Sherburn. Voting on the trees will be on both days. The winners will get gift cards to local businesses. There will be a visit from Santa and a free movie at the theatre. Saturday Supper includes ham and mashed potato served by the Youth Group from St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Cafeteria. The Lions Club will serve pancakes on Sunday morning. Plan to attend this fun event in Sherburn.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance group will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Shaw home at 804 W 1st St. in Welcome. Watchers and dancers are welcome.

There will be a Sunday School program at 9 a.m. on Sunday at Waverly Lutheran Church for the Circle of Faith parishes.

Next weekend there will be a Cribbage Tournament at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Welcome Legion Hall. The Burn Site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. on Dec. 14.
