Kawecki takes over as at-large
FAIRMONT– A new face will be joining the Fairmont City Council in 2025 following the outcome of election day.
However, the council member-at large will be a familiar face as current Ward 2 council member Britney Kawecki came away with 2,099 or 43.86 percent of the votes. Incumbent Michele Miller garnered 29 percent of the votes and Joe Kallemeyn received 26.79 percent of the votes.
In Ward 2, James Kotewa received 43 percent of the votes, Amber Hansen 29.6 percent of the votes and Jodie Whitmore 27.05 percent of the votes.
In Ward 3, Incumbent Randy Lubenow will continue in his role with 51.69 percent of the vote, Terry Riggs with 28.54 percent, Tom Winter with 12.47 percent and Edward Paschke with 6.55 percent of the vote.
In Ward 4, Wayne Hasek retains his seat with 57.82 percent of the vote and Todd Smith garnering 40.99 percent.
