Faribault County investigating homicide
WELLS– The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide in rural Wells. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is assisting the county with the investigation.
According to information released in a press release, at approximately 11:46 p.m. on Nov. 1, the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a body found at a property in rural Wells. Deputies located the body upon arriving at the scene and based on the initial investigation the death was deemed a homicide.
Chief Deputy Scott Adams said that at this time they are not releasing any information beyond that as they still need a positive ID on the body and have to notify the family.
“We’ll release more as the week goes on and things transpire and build,” Adams said.
In addition to the MN BCA, the Wells Police Department and the South Central Drug Task Force assisted with the investigation.
Located in Faribault County, Wells is a city of about 2,398 people as of 2023.
