Halloween Party planned for Nov. 2
CEYLON — Condolences to the family of Joanne Anderson who passed away recently. She will be missed by family and friends.
The Circle of Faith Parishes reminds the community that Sunday services are at 9 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon during October. St. Peter members are collecting donations for the food shelf during October.
The Circle of Faith Parishes are also planning a Coffee With the Saints event for each parish. St. Peter members are invited to bring coffee to the Lake Belt Cemetery and reminisce about loved ones buried there at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Trinity Lutheran Church members are planning to meet at their cemetery at 2 p.m. that day. The First Lutheran Church in Trimont is invited to their cemetery at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1 and, the Waverly Lutheran Church members will meet at their cemetery at 11 a.m. that day. Nov. 1 is traditionally All Saints Day.
The Coffee Lovers Group meets in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays for coffee and fellowship. Area residents are welcome.
The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have a Horse Race and Meat Raffle at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 26. They are also planning a Halloween Party on Nov. 2 with Karaoke with Rob and a Costume Contest from 7 p.m. to midnight. November is filled with special events at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon.
The Helping Hands of Ceylon will NOT have a special event for area children on Halloween but urges Ceylon residents to have their lights on if they are prepared for trick-or-treat on Halloween. The Helping Hands of Ceylon would like donations help to finish the Veterans Memorial at Ceylon Park. Contact Chris Griffin or Barb Kronback or send donations to Box 202 Ceylon, Minn 56121.
Upcoming area events include a Feather Party at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Dunnell Community Center. A Turkey/ham Bingo will be at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Sherburn’s Fire Hall. There will also be a Fall Dinner on Nov. 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn.
Harvest is winding down but there are still slow-moving vehicles around. Please have a safe fall/harvest season. Watch for excited children who may not be watching for you on Halloween.
