Kiwanis Theatre Club commences play rehearsal
Aktion Club Theatre, a part of Kiwanis International, will meet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 and 24, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. For additional information, contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
CER to teach youth babysitting, child safety
The American Safety and Health Institute’s Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program will provide an educational class about babysitting in a stylized ‘YouTube Vlogger’ presentation. The class will be from 9 a.m. to noon, on Monday, Oct. 14, at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus. Children in 4th grade and up are eligible for the event. Registration is required, costs $51, and must be made by Oct. 7. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive to class independently and prepared with a notebook and a pen.
CER teaches youth about home alone safety
CER will teach children about the importance of staying safe while home alone. The class will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus. The class for children ages 3rd grade and up will regard house rules, age guidelines, safe habits, after-school routines, door knocks, phone calls, dog emergencies, personal safety, gun safety, fire safety, severe weather, intruders, first-aid, and handling unexpected circumstances. Registration is required, costs $31, and must be made by Oct. 7. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive to class independently and prepared with a notebook and a pen.
Chamber plans Bureau 14 dinner
The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce members will gather at 5:15 p.m. for social hour, followed by a 5:45 p.m. dinner and meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at The Ranch restaurant. The guest speaker is Public Works/Public Utilities Director Matt York. The event is hosted by Bolton & Menk, Century 21 Northland Realty, DeWar Electric, Voss Cleaning Services Inc.
