CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a 5:30 p.m. communion service tonight. Area residents are welcome for these services on the first and third Saturday evenings. The Our Savior’s Church also has Bible classes at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday. The area residents are welcome to attend.

The Circle of Faith Parishes are reminded that they are on their October schedule of services with 9 a.m. services at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. The St. Peter congregation is collecting donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during Oct..

Condolences to the family of Ronald Connell of Dunnell, who passed away recently. He will be missed.

The Coffee Lovers group meets each Thursday at the back room of Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Area residents are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.

The Cribbage Tournament action is starting on Oct. 12 at Welcome Legion Hall with registration at 1:15 p.m. The Cribbage Tournament is scheduled to be held on the second and third Saturdays from Oct. to spring in Welcome. Area residents are welcome to join them for an afternoon of fun. The registration will be returned 100 percent as prizes. Sounds like a fun afternoon.

The Ceylon City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the City Hall. All members are urged to attend the meeting. The Red Cross Blood drives continue with a drive on Oct. 21 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop, and on Oct. 25 at the American Legion at Downtown Fairmont. With all the disasters happening lately the need for blood has been urgent so give it if you are able.
