Filing period ends in Martin County
FAIRMONT– Filing for the Nov. 5 general election ended on Tuesday and two more people ended up joining the mix for city council in Fairmont.
Terry Riggs of 210 S. Elm Street filed for Ward 3. Riggs joins incumbent Randy Lubenow and Tom Winter who have also filed for Ward 3.
On Tuesday Joe Kallemeyn of 1330 S. State Street filed for the councilmember at-large seat. He joins incumbent Michele Miller and current Ward 2 seat-holder, Britney Kawecki, who have also filed for the seat.
Other filings in Fairmont include Amber Hansen, Jodie Whitmore and James Kotewa for the Ward 2 seat and incumbent Wayne Hasek and Todd Smith for the Ward 4 seat.
According to the Minnesota Secretary of State site, other filings in Martin County include John Gibeau, Judith Perkins and Marvin Zehm for Ceylon Mayor and Armin Kronback and Terry Muller for Ceylon City Council, with two members up for election.
Marlin Bliesmer filed for Mayor of Dunnell and Jeremiah Heifner, Dean Janssen and Charlene Somnis filed for Dunnell City Council with two members up for election.
According to the site, no one filed for mayor of Northrop.
In Sherburn, Tucker Schuneman and Doug Schroder filed for mayor and Ronnie Beckius, Thomas Carruthers Jr., Richard Behne and Aarin Greis filed for city council with two members up for election.
According to the site, no one filed for mayor of Trimont or the two councils seats up for election.
In Truman, no one filed for mayor but Chad Truax and Danielle Williams filed for the city council with two members up for election.
According to the site, no one filed for mayor of Welcome or the two council seats up for election.
On the school district side, Dan Brookens and Shayna Wolfe filed for the Fairmont School Board though three seats are up for election.
In Truman, with three seats open, Paula Kristine Heckman and Kenna Krahmer filed for the openings.
With three open seats on the Granada-Huntley-East Chain School Board, J.D. Goraczowski, Ross Gronewald and Jessica Salic filed.
In the Martin County West School District, a staggering nine people filed for four open seats on the board. They include: Laura Borchardt, Andrew Krusemark, Dannielle Peters, Jeffrey Scholl, Tom Studer, Darren Thate, Bill Unterseher, Justin White and Mark Wohlhuter.
For the seats that no one filed for, write-in candidates will be accepted during the Nov. 5 general election.
