Steak fry Saturday at Sherburn Legion

SHERBURN — The Sherburn Library has storytime sessions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays. They also have a Boredom Buster at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Check out all the fun activities.

The Sherburn Legion will hold a Steak Fry Night from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, July 13. Choose from ribeye, shrimp or smoked pork chop along with baked potato and salad bar for only $20. Sherburn Legion will also have a ‘Hamburger Night’ from 6-8 p.m. on July 17. Sounds very delicious especially if you do not have to make the supper.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie ‘Despicable Me 4’ this weekend, July 12-14. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets cost $5.

Wednesday, July 1, is also the date for a CREST-sponsored Lunch & Learn program beginning 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a light lunch. These educational and interesting programs are free to anyone in Martin County. They appreciate a free will donation for the lunch.

The deadline to sign up for the bus trip to The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Kentucky sponsored by the Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn is Monday, July 15. Sign up by calling Mary Johnson at (507) 399-1424 or the church office at (507) 764-5312 by Monday. They have planned some stops on the way to Kentucky and on the way back. The trip is planned for Aug. 18-24 and the cost is a little over $1,000 per person which includes tickets to events, lodging and some meals.

Tuesday coffee hours for July continue from 8:30-10 a.m. July 16, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn just south of I-90. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and great fellowship each Tuesday.

The farmer’s market in Trimont is held 2:30-5:30 p.m. every Friday during the summer at Anderson Park.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Regional Worship Center parking lot in Sherburn. $25 will get a trunk full of groceries. There are no residential or income guidelinesfor recipients. If anyone has empty boxes they would like to return, give them to the volunteers near the beginning of the line. There is a Facebook list of some of the items given before the event. The fee can be prepaid online at rubyspantry.org.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic is scheduled to be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 15 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, near the city hall building. Call the appointment line at (507) 238-8500 and mention the Sherburn Mobile Clinic.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held noon to 6 p.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Paul’s Church in Welcome and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 22, at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont.
