WELCOME — The Welcome Historical Society Museum will be open from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 6. Come check out the many items from the city, school and villages.

Circle of Faith parishes are scheduled to have Sunday services on July 7, at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. The service on July 14 will be a joint service in conjunction with the Trimont Fun Fest at 10 a.m. at Anderson Park in Trimont. Trimont Vacation Bible School is scheduled July 21-25 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. Each day will have a supper at 5:15 p.m. and activities from 6-8 p.m. This is for area

children, ages 4 to those going into 6th grade. For more information, contact Nancy Nordstrom at (507) 236-6132. Waverly Lutheran Church is planning a joint service on Sept. 8 for their 125th anniversary. If you have relatives that would like to attend make sure they know the date and can attend.

Welcome Legion will meet 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the Welcome Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.

Tuesday coffee hours for July will continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on July 9, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Hopefully the asphalt will be done on the Highway 4 project but watch for signs for access to the church.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held noon to 6 p.m. on July 15 at St. Paul’s in Welcome and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 22, at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Welcome to Catherine Arens who will be the new city clerk. She is in training with Deb Hanson now. If you need the city clerk’s help let her know she is welcome to Welcome and give her and Deb your cooperation.

Trimont has Sundaes in the Park scheduled for July 7 with the Kittlesons and July 21 with Glen Hendrickson. The Trimont FunFest is scheduled for July 12-14. Plan to attend these activities in Trimont. They also have a farmer’s market from 2:30-5:30 p.m. each Friday at Anderson Park.

Welcome Summer Festival is scheduled for July 19-21. Check out the list of activities on the poster and on Facebook. There are usually city-wide garage/rummage sales on Friday and Saturday. If you are planning to participate in the Welcome Days 5K fun run/walk on July 20, today, July 5 is the last day to register by sending name and shirt size to Tonya.klunder@valero.com. Benefits from the $25 registration will go to the Welcome Fire Department Relief Association. Refreshments will be served at the end of the race for all participants.

The Welcome Summer Festival parade will be held 4:30 p.m. on July 20 and line up is on Mill Street. Following the parade. The Hobo Band, SuFuDu and Groove Band will perform on Main Street. Have you purchased your raffle ticket? The winner will be announced July 20 on stage. Welcome firefighters will serve chicken beginning 5 p.m. on July 19. DJ Chopper, Steve Lang and Fat City All Stars are scheduled to entertain. Sounds like a fun weekend in Welcome. Plan to attend.
