Consignment auction July 20 in Ceylon

CEYLON — Our Savior’s congregation will have their 5:30 p.m. service with communion tonight, June 15. The next service will be July 6. Area residents are welcome to join them at the service.

Condolences to the families of Paula (Schmidt) Suter, a former resident of Ceylon and to the family of Jim Morris, a long-time resident of Ceylon. Jim may be remembered as a bus driver for the school in the past. They will be missed by family and friends.

Sherburn Festival parade will begin 1 p.m. today, June 15, along with lots of other activities at the city park in Sherburn.

The summer consignment auction in Ceylon will be held July 20. The auction will begin at 8:30 a.m. that day with 2-3 rings. Items can be consigned until July 18 or the sale is full. They also have a post on Facebook. There are no household items for this sale.

Tuesday coffee hours for June will continue from 8:30-10 a.m. June 18, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship.

CREST-sponsored Lunch and Learn program will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a lunch. These informative sessions are free to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.

American Red Cross blood drives are scheduled noon to 6 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Truman Community Building and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Fairmont Legion, 300 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. There is also a blood drive on July 15 in Welcome and on July 22 at St. John Vianney Church in Fairmont. The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have their high stakes Puzzle Race at 1:30 p.m. on July 22. That day is also the date for the Martin County Humane Society bake sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fleet and Farm Supply Ace Hardware in Fairmont. Proceeds will help with expenses at the animal shelter in Fairmont.
