CEYLON — Today, May 18, is Clean Up Day in Ceylon. The items on the curb with a tag will be picked up by the Waste Management truck. This is for Ceylon residents only. This is a good

opportunity to get rid of the items that would be an ordinance violation.

There will be a bag tournament beginning 5 p.m tonight, May 18, at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Bring your own bags. There is a registration charge per team. For further information, call (507) 632-4696.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a service with communion at 5:30 p.m. tonight, May 18. Area residents are welcome to join them.

Circle of Faith parishes will help Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome celebrate their 150th

anniversary on Sunday, May 19. There will be a joint service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a light lunch. Congratulations to Trinity’s congregation for a huge milestone.

Tuesday morning in May. Ceylon Coffee Lovers group meets 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. All men and women of the area are welcome to join them.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 20, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 24. at the Live Fit Gym in Fairmont. Also, blood drives are scheduled June 4-5 at Best Western in Fairmont. Give blood if you are able since there is an urgent need right now. Remember to do a Rapid Pass on the day of blood donation to reduce the time in the registration process.

May 27 is Memorial Day. Plan to attend a Memorial Day program at area events to remember those who gave all for our freedom since freedom isn’t free. Thank you to all veterans for your service.
