WELCOME -- The Welcome Historical Society will have the Welcome Museum open from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4. They open the museum every first Saturday during the summer. Check out the items of interest. For more information, contact Vicki Nelson at (507) 236-7081.

Circle of Faith parishes have Sunday services at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, then at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. There will be confirmation that day for two youth, Jackson Wilmes and Lillie Oudekerk, at First Lutheran that day. Congratulations to Jackson and Lillie and best wishes for your future.

Trinity Lutheran Church will have a special joint service on May 19, to celebrate the congregations's 150th anniversary. Wow, what a milestone for them. Plan to attend the special service with a light lunch to follow.

Tuesday coffee hours for May will begin 8:30-10 a.m. on May 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for goodies, coffee and great fellowship.

Tuesday, May 7, is also the date for the Welcome City Council meeting beginning 6 p.m. at the city hall in Welcome. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda please contact the city hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 728-8740.

• American Red Cross blood drives will be held in Fairmont on May 16 at Grace Lutheran Church, on May 20 at St. Vianney Catholic Church and on May 24 at the Live Fit Gym. To find blood drives or to make an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or go online to www.redcrossblood.org.
• May 11 is Clean Up Day in Welcome this spring. The truck will be on Campbell Street by the fire hall from 8-10 a.m. (or whenever truck is full). Appliances are accepted in this clean up day. The clean up is for Welcome residents only. Be prepared to show proof of residency. This is a good opportunity to get rid of items that are ordinance violations.
• The Lake Promenaders will gather for square dancing fun starting 6 p.m. on May 12, at the Shaw home, 804 West First Street in Welcome. Anyone interested in square dancing is welcome to join them.
