Community Day Auction today

CEYLON — Today, April 13, is the date for the Ceylon Community Day Auction and Rummage Sales. Maps for rummage sales should be available at the auction office (bus) and the post office. Remember to respect private property in the City and reduce speeds of four wheelers. There will be many people in the town that day so let’s all be safe and courteous.

The Ceylon Area Historical Society will open the museum from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, April 13. The museum is behind the old city hall building across the street from the post office. Use the entrance on the east side of the building. There are many items of interest from the town, city, legion and area to see.

The non-profit group, Helping Hands of Ceylon, will hold a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today in the front part of the old city hall building across the street from the post office. They will have free coffee and many jewelry and leather items for men, women and teens for sale. Make sure to stop by.

Condolences to the family of long-time Ceylon resident and businessman (Bank), Marlen Bents. He will be missed by family and friends.

St. Peter Lutheran Church will continue their collection for Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during April. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will collect non-perishable items for the Faribault County Food Shelf as Gifts from the Heart at the LWML Spring Rally/Mission Gathering to be held April 16. They request items be brought to the church by this Sunday, April 14.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 12:30-5:30 p.m. on April 22, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. To make an appointment or find blood drives in your area, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Give if you are able since there is an urgent need for blood now. Thank you.

Tuesday coffee hours in April continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on April 16, at Sinn Family Celebration of Life facility in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship.

CREST Lunch & Learn program will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will be followed by a light lunch. These CREST programs are free to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.
