Museum to open Saturday

WELCOME — The Welcome Historical Society will have the Welcome Museum on Hulseman Street

open from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Check out the many items from area history.

Condolences to the families of Eunice Eisenmenger and Maryl Lemke who passed away recently. They will be missed by friends and family.

Circle of Faith members are reminded that they are in the April schedule so Sunday services will be held 9 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

Tuesday coffee hours in April continue from 8:30-10 a.m. April 9, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life facility in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship.

American Red Cross blood drives in the area continue for April 10 at Truman High School, April 12 at the American Legion in Fairmont, and April 22 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Blood is urgently needed so give if you are able. Thank you.

The Welcome burn site is open from 8 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturdays each month. From June -October, it will be open 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays. Please no garbage or metal and limit the branches to those 6 inches in diameter. Thank you.

CREST will have Buddy Training on April 15 and 16 in Fairmont. Buddies will visit with those patients to give the caregiver some time off for errands or whatever. Buddies do not give medicine or do personal care. To register or for further information, call (507) 235-3833.

Upcoming events include:

• The last cribbage tournament for this spring will be 1:30 p.m. on April 13 at the Welcome Legion. Tournament play will resume in October.

• A puzzle race contest as a fundraiser for the Summer Festival will be held April 20 at the Welcome Legionl. Contact Zach Gerhardt on messenger or text for further information or to register your four person team.

• The Lake Promenader Square Dance Group will meet 6 p.m. on April 14 at the Shaw Home in Welcome.

• Heart Song will do a fundraiser for Healing Hearts Housing on June 22 at the Martin County Arena. There will also be a hog roast, silent auction and kids activities. Mark your calendar and plan to attend any of these upcoming events.
