CEYLON — There will be a pancake brunch fundraiser for the Ceylon Fire Department Relief

Association will be held 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 10, in the back room at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham and juice. The cost is a free will donation which will be used for equipment for the Ceylon Fire Department and EMS groups. The non-profit group, Helping Hands of Ceylon, will also have a bake sale at this event. A delicious way to help a good cause. Thank you to the Ceylon firefighters and EMTs for your service to the community.

There is a cribbage tournament at 1:30 p.m. today, March 9, at the Welcome Legion. Anyone who likes to play cribbage is welcome to join them. They are planning another tournament on March 16 at the same time and place.

Ceylon City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Ceylon City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the city hall at (507) 632-4653 prior to the meeting date.

Wednesday midweek Lenten services are planned at area churches. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have 6:30 p.m. services and a cooperative lunch to follow. Circle of Faith parishes, which includes the St. Peter Lutheran parish, are meeting at Trinity Lutheran in Welcome. A meal, which is a fundraiser for the youth group, will begin at 6 p.m. with the service at 7 p.m.

The LWML ladies group at St. Paul’s in Wilbert will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Wilbert. All members are encouraged to attend.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 18, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont.
