CEYLON — Midweek Lenten services in area churches continue with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert having services at 6:30 p.m., followed by a lunch. Their dual congregation in Sherburn, St. John’s Lutheran, will have a 6 p.m. service and lunch. Circle of Faith parishes, including St. Peter from Ceylon, have Lenten services on Wednesdays at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. There is a meal at 6 p.m. as a fundraiser for the youth group, with the service at 7 p.m. Area residents are welcome to join any of these churches for services.

American Red Cross blood drives continue in the area with a drive from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome, and a drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. March blood drives in Fairmont are planned for March 8, 18 and 29. Thursday Coffee Hours continue in Ceylon from 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday in the back of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. All area men and women are encouraged to join them for coffee and fellowship.

• Cribbage tournaments beginning 1:30 p.m. March 9 and 16 at at the Welcome Legion Hall.

• Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association pancake brunch will be held 9 a.m. to noon March 10, in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill.

• Helping Hands of Ceylon group will have a bake sale fundraiser at the site of the pancake event. They will accept baked goods to sell and hope those attending will buy some baked goods.
