WELCOME -- Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Welcome City Hall. There is always a time for public questions and comments at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact City Hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 728-8740.

Condolences to the family of John Stelter who passed away recently. He was the son of Marilyn Stelter (and Don) of Welcome. He will be missed by family and friends.

The cribbage tournament will be held next weekend, Saturday, Feb. 10 and again on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Circle the date and plan to attend. All cribbage lovers are welcome.

Those interested in square dance are welcome to join the Lake Promenaders group at 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Shaw home on First Street in Welcome. Dancers or those wanting to find out what it is all about are welcome.

Another upcoming event is the Summer Festival weekend in Welcome which will be held July 19-21 in 2024. A DJ is scheduled for Friday night and the Fat City All Stars are scheduled
on Saturday. Bounce Houses and obstacle courses are booked for Friday and Saturday. The festival committee is looking for a group to run the foodstand on Saturday at the park and someone to coordinate the rummage sales map. They decided to keep the parade route as they did in 2023 starting on Mill Street. They will have a Burger Bash fundraiser from 5:30-7 p.m. on Feb. 9, at the Welcome Legion Hall.
