Shop with a Cop coming up

WELCOME — Welcome to December. Hope it is a good month.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will have services in December on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in Ceylon at St. Peter Lutheran Church or at 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at city hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments/questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda contact city hall prior to the meeting at (507) 728-8740.

Donations to the Shop with a Cop program should be sent in today to Welcome Fire Relief Association. Children will shop for their families with a cop sometime in December around the 15th. They will wrap presents at the Temperance Lake Ridge facility with the help of residents, cops and firemen from Welcome and Sherburn. Questions contact Chief of Police, Trevor Yochim.

The Red Cross Blood Drive will be at St. John Vianney Church in Fairmont Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at the Sinn Family Life Center in Trimont from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. that same day. Call the 800-733-2767 number or go online to www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 for further information about blood drives times and locations and to make an appointment.

Sherburn Civic and Commerce Club holds their Deck The Halls Believe in the Magic of a Christmas Tree event tomorrow and Sunday. Vote on your favorite Christmas Tree and shop at all the vendors. There will be a free movie at the Sherburn Theatre and Santa is coming.

Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club will have a square dance 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Shaw home in Welcome. Plan to attend.

The cribbage tournament is coming up on Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 at Welcome Legion Hall. Put the date on your calendar and plan to attend.
