Cookie walk at Trinity Church Saturday

TRUMAN — Orders for the whole homemade pies (apple, blueberry, pecan, or cherry) are due today by calling (507) 236-7292. These pies can be picked up on the day of St. Johns’ Antrim beef commercial meal on Dec. 3. There is a suggested price of $10 per pie.

There will be no school for Truman Public School students tomorrow, Dec. 1. It’s a Teacher Workday.

A card shower honoring the birthday of Allen Burnham of Truman is requested. He was born Dec.2 1937. Cards and birthday wishes may be sent to him at 222 W. 2nd St. S, Truman, MN 56088.

A cookies walk at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman, will be held 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday. You can choose cookies, caramels, Kringle, karma party mix, fudge, etc. And then pay for the items you choose by the pound. Containers will be provided. This community event is always a favorite for shoppers to stock up on Christmas baking.

A craft vendor show, bake sale and chili luncheon will be 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Truman community building. Your Christmas shopping can be complete with glass items, diamond painting, Afghan, quilts, candy, cookies, honey, scentsy, 31 bags, Tupperware, alpaca items and much more. Support the seventh grade at their bake sale and enjoy a cup of chili, crackers, a cookie, and a beverage for five dollars.

St. John’s Antrim church will be having their eighth annual beef commercial meal 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 in the church basement. To go orders are available. This is a free will donation event.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, at the Truman Municipal Building. These meetings are open to the public.

Truman sorority will be holding its annual shopping spree for kindergarten through six graders 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the community building. Gifts are 50 cents each. Please make your list so your child can be prepared. Several adults will be available to help younger children choose gifts. It is important kids have the learning experience by choosing their own gifts. The shopping spree is sponsored by the Truman Sorority.

Wednesday is recycling day. Place container curbside by 7 am.

Community Christmas Movie Night will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6 in the auditorium. Showing on the big screen is Disney’s “The Santa Clause”. This is fun for the whole family. Wearing PJs is highly encouraged or bring a blanket or throw as well. Popcorn, candy, and soda will be for sale.

Plan to attend the soup and sandwich luncheon 11 a.m. to 1p.m., Dec. 9 at the Lewisville legion. You can enjoy a variety of soups and sandwiches. Santa will be there.

Change of date for the Truman Fire Department Santa Parade. They will again be having the Santa Parade this year, beginning at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 10th. If you would like to participate or have a group that would like to join in on the fun contact Dave Bentz at (507) 236-2749. The parade is open to anyone who would like to decorate up a vehicle and have fun.

Enjoy Truman Pride Soup and Sandwich meal 4-6:30 p.m., Dec. 10. It will be held in the Truman School Cafeteria for a free-will donation. Please use auditorium entrance. Santa and Mrs. Claus appearing at 4 p.m. All proceeds will be used for the high school locker room remodel.
