Ceylon holding lighting contest
CEYLON — Join the Helping Hands of Ceylon 6 p.m. Dec. 2, at the area east of the old Peterson Cafe for the Giving Tree lighting, some hot chocolate and cookies. They will be accepting monetary donations and donations of toys and hats and mittens for the children of Ceylon.

Ceylon children should pick up the sign up sheet at the post office and hand in the filled form in the drop box at the city hall. The parents will be choosing gifts for their children 2-4 p.m. December 18, from the donated toys and other gifts, in the back room of Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Drop off boxes for the toys and hats and mittens are at Bomgaars and Sterling Drug, Tractor Supply and the Dollar Store in Fairmont.

The Helping Hands of Ceylon will have a Santa Day 2-4 p.m. Dec. 16th in the extra back room of Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Bring your camera since Santa will be there. Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider and cookies and bars will be served.

Remember, Ceylon is having a Lighting Contest for the residents. Make sure your holiday lights are up soon. Prizes will be in the form of credit on your utility bill.

Lake Belt Bar and Grill would like to remind residents of the area that the IV Play band is scheduled for 9 p.m. Dec. 1 at their place. Tickets are available at the door for $15 or presale for $10. (Venmo@JordanBurm1). They are also having horse racing and meat raffles 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Ceylon will be hopping that weekend.

December Circle of Faith services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon at 9 a.m. or Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome at 10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings.
